Frequently asked questions - Landonline Stage Two (conveyancing)

Settlement

Can legal secretaries release documents on settlement day?
Yes. A firm can authorise the same staff who deal with settlements in the paper environment to undertake the same roles in the electronic environment. (Refer NZLS Guidelines).

If we do 15 settlements on a Friday - is the legal executive going to have to go to the solicitor repeatedly on Friday afternoon?
No. The solicitor only needs to be involved in certification and signing, all of which can, and should, be done well before settlement day.
